The Cubanómetro game is independently developed by Grupo N!VAL. It is a very simple application, essentially a game of questions and answers related to Cuban culture. It contains 1000 questions and you must reach a total of 5000 points to complete it as a good Cuban.

It is inspired by the popular “surveys to self-assess Cubanness” or “Cubanidad tests” that circulated by email among Cubans from all over the world, descendants of Cubans and interested in Cuban culture. These surveys contained more than 300 questions compiled over the years thanks to the contribution and collaboration of various people. From what was cataloged as version number 13.6, questions were selected to be included in this application. Important references in the development of the game were the linguistic works of doctors Fernando Ortiz, Catauro de Cubanismos - which Ortiz described as a "first of cubherías" -, and Juan Marinello, Un guacalito de cubanismos.

From a creation, selection and editing work carried out by our editor Claudia Borrajo del Toro, Graduate in History at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of the University of Havana, with the support of some collaborators and suggestions from players, many new questions were created that cover various elements of Cuban culture and Cuban popular knowledge to this day. You will find the same questions associated with old phrases or traditions as you will find questions referring to a current television program. Example: What do I like Marieta to do? In principle, if you are Cuban, it will be easy for you to answer many questions, which may have a greater or lesser degree of difficulty depending on your age or your experience.

With this game, you can have a good time and relive good memories. With each question you will see four possible answers, if you answer correctly, you will move on to the next one. Depending on the number of questions you answer successfully, your position in the world ranking will be determined. As you can see, it is very simple in its basic concept; although with your help, in the future it will have another group of extra functionalities and alternative games that will enrich the user experience.
